Sidney Stringer Academy offers a range of fantastic opportunities for students including a large and varied set of extracurricular activities to participation within the school system as a representative of their tutor group, house or the student body in general.
Enrichment
At Sidney Stringer we encourage students to partake in one of several 'enrichment' classes which take place at lunch and after school. Offering a wide spectrum of choices, students can take part in a range of sporting activities; learn to play an instrument, complete the Duke of Edinburgh challenge, or one of many other opportunities.
Students at Sidney Stringer Academy are competing in tutor groups for the Maths is Magic competition. Maths quizzes are happening now with a grand final on the 3rd of February in the Theatre. The competition aims to encourage students to develop their interest in Maths and to make it more exciting, snippets of information are only revealred along the way!
Sports Council
Two students per tutor group are given the chance to represent their tutor group as a sports rep and reserve rep for the sports council. Their roles include attending sport council meetings, disseminating information to tutor groups and discussing sporting issues with tutor groups and other council reps. They also have a big part in planning and organising the academy Sports Day.
