Da Vinci Year 11 Exam Results 2016

It was another record-breaking year for exam results in Da Vinci House, with some fantastic achievements by our students. With improvements in all areas compared to last year, the successes of all of our students were a testament to how hard they have worked not just in Year 11, but since the start of Year 7.

Mrs Green, Head of Da Vinci House, couldn't contain her delight. 'I am so proud of all of our students. So many have made progress way ahead of national expectations, and they all deserve this success.'

Laila Bahar, with 8 A* grades, was equally delighted. 'I am so proud of my results', she exclaimed. 'I have worked so hard for this, and I honestly couldn't have done it without the help of all of my teachers who have inspired me to do so well.'

We feel that everyone within Da Vinci House should have a bright future. Everyone should have the opportunity of fulfilling their dreams and aspirations. We encourage students to use their imagination, be creative, come up with ideas but also to work through problems logically where possible.

Da Vinci came from Leonardo Da Vinci the famous painter, architect, sculptor, engineer, inventor, mathematician and writer! Lenardo di ser Piero da Vinci was born April 15th 1452 and died on May 2nd 1519, aged 67. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and one of the most diversely talented to have lived. Renowned primarily as a painter, two of his works, “The Mona Lisa” and “The last Supper” are the most famous of all time. Leonardo’s drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also regarded as a cultural icon. Leonardo is revered for his technological ingenuity. He conceptualised a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power and a calculator. As a Scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics and hydrodynamics. As a Maths and Technology Academy Leonardo da Vinci is the perfect role model for our students to aspire towards.
