A small group of our students went to Tile Hill Wood School on Thursday 12 January to represent Sidney Stringer Academy at this year's Coventry Inspiration Book Awards Book Bout.
Each school was randomly allocated a book to champion from the Read It Or Else! category. This year we were given 'Pretty Twisted' by Gina Blaxhill, a great mystery thriller from a new young writer.
Our students gave a very good presentation and we all enjoyed watching the other schools giving theirs. It was great meeting other keen readers from around the city.
The winning auhors of all the categories of the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards will be announced at Central Library on Wednesday 15 February at 6.00pm. The author Celia Rees will be there to open the golden envelopes and announce the winners. Everyone is welcome to attend!
