BBC Club: "We were thrilled that, working with Coventry Schools Library Service, we were able to launch the Sidney Stringer Cultural Olympics with such a superstar of the fiction world. Her books have won numerous awards and are very popular in both public and school libraries of Coventry. She spoke about her work and latest book, Hit Squad, in her series The Medusa Project. Sidney Stringer students will soon be taking part in an academy writing competition and the writing tips that Ms McKenzie shared will stand them in good stead.
Ms McKenzie is the second author that Sidney Stringer has invited to appear in their new purpose built theatre and we were again pleased to be joined by other secondary schools from around the city.
In the afternoon of the same day, we were invited to Caludon Castle school to meet the author and illustrator Curtis Jobling and a small group of our students enjoyed meeting him. A great start to our Cultural Olympics."
