New Year 7 students in September 2026 <\/u><\/b><\/div>\n
There is a change to our current mobile phone policy for students joining us in Year 7 in September 2026. They will no longer be able to bring any smart phones into school – only basic feature phones eg <\/b> Nokias105\/106\/3210\/2260 or Alcatel 3080 will be allowed. These phones must be switched off on the school premises throughout the school day. [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Sidney Stringer Academy caters for 1450 students aged 11-19 including a large sixth form. The Academy opened in September 2010 and moved into our new building in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

The school was originally a sponsored academy but in 2014 following an Ofsted inspection which judged the academy to be outstanding we became a sponsor in our own right. Sidney Stringer is now the lead school in the Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust and there are currently 5 schools in the trust:\u00a0 Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Radford Primary Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School) and Sidney Stringer Primary Academy.\u00a0 All of the schools are working together with the aim of providing an outstanding education for all of our pupils.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our ambition at Sidney Stringer Academy is to create a vibrant, happy and successful academy which delivers the very highest standards of education and nurtures each student\u2019s talents and skills and plays a central role in meeting the needs of our local community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sidney Stringer Academy is a very successful school.\u00a0 In 2023, we were judged as outstanding by Ofsted in three categories: Leadership and Management, Personal Development and Sixth-form provision. We are currently very oversubscribed and an extremely popular local school.<\/span><\/p>\n

The curriculum we offer both stretches the gifted and talented and supports those with special needs. Ofsted commented that \u201cThe Academy supports students exceptionally well\u201d.\u00a0 We set high standards and have high expectations of all. We all look forward to working in partnership with parents and appreciate your support in providing an outstanding education for all of our pupils.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fantastic Student Outcomes<\/h4>

Every year since the Academy opened, results have continued to be outstanding at GCSE and post 16 levels. In 2016 Sidney Stringer Academy was placed in the top 6% of schools nationally for student progress, the Mathematics department is in the top 4% of schools in the country. We give regular attendance to the academy the highest priority in order to maximise pupil progress. Through a combination of rewards, communication and face to face meetings with parents and pupils, we are relentless in our pursuit of maximum attendance for all pupils.
