Learning Support<\/h1>\n

We are an inclusive Academy<\/strong> and aim to provide all students within an environment where they feel safe and can succeed academically whilst becoming confident individuals who successfully transition into adult life.<\/h5>\n
Quality first teaching<\/strong> is key for the success of all students, particularly for those who may have additional barriers to learning. As an Academy, we strive to support those students who require extra provision<\/strong> in order to reach their potential.<\/h5>\n
We endeavour to link closely with parents\/carers and acknowledge that they have a key role in making decisions regarding the support that their child receives. Every student should be given appropriate levels of support to meet their needs while being encouraged to become independent learners simultaneously.   As an Academy, we ensure that reasonable adjustments are made so that all students have an equal opportunity to access a broad and balanced curriculum.<\/h5>\n
If as a parent\/carer, you would like to discuss the support that your child is receiving, please liaise with your child\u2019s Head of Year<\/strong> or contact one of the members of staff below.  A member of the SEND team will be available at every parent\u2019s evening but please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions or information that you wish to share.<\/h5>\n

As a Learning Support faculty, we aim to provide support for any student requiring additional provision to help them reach their potential.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”SEND” tab_id=”1629369028565-70351674-87e7″][vc_column_text css=””]Students may be identified as SEND using the Academy criteria (please see the School Information Report below). If a student is identified as SEND then they will have a student support plan. This provides teachers with the SEND information and strategies to help the student access their learning. Both students and parents will have the opportunity to input into and review these plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Graduated Approach (assess, plan, do and review) is incorporated into various processes at the Academy. It is put in place to ensure that any gaps in progress are identified, and a plan is actioned and reviewed in order to meet individual student need.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have provision to support students with a wide range of SEND including the support of students with additional physical needs. If you want more information on how we cater for students with physical needs, please see both the SEND Policy and Accessibility Plan below. If you have any further questions, please do contact a member of the SEND team and we will be happy to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

Any student with SEND has a package of support put in place for them \u2013 this is determined by the student\u2019s identified area(s) of need. If your child has an EHCP, you will be invited in over the course of the academic year to meet the SENCO and complete the statutory annual EHCP review. There is also the opportunity to meet a member of the SEND team at every parent evening and on our SEND progress days.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Internal Interventions” tab_id=”1629369083453-f707e5d8-8e08″][vc_column_text css=””]We provide a wide range of interventions that help to meet the needs of students requiring additional support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
