Building on the learning from our successful work with the Language Hubs programme, our school is part of a national Language Network, working with experts at NCLE (National Consortium to prepare for a new phase of operation which will officially launch in the new academic year. We remain firmly committed to bringing about constructive change in languages teaching and learning, and to promoting the value of the intercultural dimension and multilingualism.<\/p>\n

The ability to speak other languages is an asset for pupils, both professionally and personally. Research shows that there are clear educational, personal, cultural, social and career benefits in being able to communicate confidently in another language.<\/p>\n

As a country, we need more and better language skills which add value and widen opportunities for individuals, communities and society.<\/p>\n

The programme\u2019s ethos is \u2018Collaboration, Creativity and Collegiality\u2019. Initially, we will work closely with colleagues from secondary Partner Schools to spread best practice ensuring high quality language education, deliver bespoke CPD and increase access to home, heritage and community languages. Primary schools will join the programme in the near future. There is also a specific drive to promote the study of German.<\/p>\n

The programme is managed by the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE), the Goethe-Institut and the British Council.<\/p>\n
